What you don\u2019t know about vegetable oils\nis the key to living in your best health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are they anyway?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vegetable oils are fats from plants. You\u2019ll\nsee soy, canola, corn, and cotton as the most popular. In comparison to everyone\u2019s\nfavorite olive oil, which has been pressed for ages, vegetable oils use\nindustrial processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, learning about that might make you\nlose your appetite. Again, there\u2019s nothing set in stone but to minimize your risks, you should work with more stable forms of oil for cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vegetable oils exposed to very high temperatures for long periods are the biggest area of concern. Health experts recommend <strong>clarified butter<\/strong> and <strong>coconut oil<\/strong> since they stay stable at high heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you still using vegetable oils? If\nyou\u2019re worried about having too much omega-6 oils in your diet, here are a few\nways to cut down your consumption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8211; Limit the vegetable oils\nyou use<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When shopping for oil at the store, stop\nbuying vegetable oil. You can limit what you consume down to mayo or salad\ndressing, but it might be best to eliminate it completely. You can make your\nown mayo and salad dressings that will taste even better than store-bought\nanyway!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8211; Order substitutions\nwhenever possible<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you know, when you\u2019re living a healthy\nlifestyle, you have to be vigilant when dining out. At restaurants, instead of\njust avoiding fried things, ask about the oils used. Request politely to have\nyour food cooked in coconut oil if it\u2019s possible. Not every place will be able\nto do so, but it never hurts to ask. For salads, ask for olive oil and vinegar\nto be sure you\u2019re avoiding that excess vegetable oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8211; No more\ncommercially-baked snacks and treats<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve decided that you would like to live a healthier life by cutting out sugar and refined grains, that\u2019s a great step in a low-carb and healthy direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It serves another purpose though because those commercially-made foods tend to have lots of vegetable oils.
