However, if you\u2019re following the wildly popular keto or low carb diets,\nyou might run into the challenge of finding keto gas station snacks that follow\nthe strict low to no-carbohydrate rule. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Are There Keto-Friendly Gas Station\nSnacks?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Gas\nstations are always in the plan for a hectic daily routine. You can&#8217;t get\naround without their services. However, when you walk through the gas station\ndoor, you&#8217;re greeted by a wonderland of treats. It is very tempting to grab a\nhandful of whatever looks good, but you have to stick to your diet plan. Don&#8217;t\nworry; there are plenty of options for keto-friendly gas station snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Beef Jerky<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When\nin doubt, go for protein. Beef jerky might be a bit on the expensive side at\ngas stations, but they can be very low in carbohydrates. However, they won\u2019t\nmeet the fat requirements you need on the ketogenic diet. That means you\u2019ll\nhave to find packs of cheese if they\u2019re available to pair with the jerky to get\nmore fats into your gas station snacking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip: <\/strong>Be\nsure to check beef jerky packs for their sugar contents. Not all jerky is\ncreated equally! Many Jerky\u2019s have added carbs so be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Dark Chocolate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou&#8217;re not in the mood for jerky and want something sweet instead, then look\nfor some keto-friendly dark chocolate at the gas station. However, take a look\nat the packaging and make sure the dark chocolate has at least 70% cocoa\nsolids. Anything less, and you&#8217;re risking knocking yourself out of keto for\nsweet gas station snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Nuts<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Be\nvery careful when choosing nuts. Some are keto-friendly gas station snacks,\nwhile others contain more carbohydrates. If you want to stay safe, reach for\nmacadamia nuts or pecans. However, just because they&#8217;re low in carbs doesn&#8217;t\nmean you can go nuts on them (pun intended). Consume a serving to satisfy the\nraging beast that is your stomach to give you a little burst of energy to get\nthrough your day but be sure to moderate your consumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>The Cooler Section<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The\naverage gas station has a cooler section where you can find everything from\nhard-boiled eggs to pickles. Hard-boiled eggs are a great option for filling up\nyour stomach while minimizing your carbohydrate intake. Pickles are also found\nin the refrigerated section of a gas station and are a keto-friendly way to\ncurb your hunger. You can also find packets of cream cheese, a great keto fill-you-up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Sausages\nand Hot Dogs<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Many\ngas stations have rollers with sausages and hot dogs ready for the eating. This\ncan be a great warm option to satisfy that hunger and hold you over until your\nnext meal. While the sausages and hot dogs can be low carb friendly snacks, <strong>the\nbuns are not! <\/strong>Be sure to stay away from buns and double check any condiments\nyou might be adding. Mustard and Mayonnaise are usually your lowest carb\noptions. Also look out for condiments with higher sugar levels such as ketchup\nand relish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much\nlike a stop at the gas station to fill up, following a keto diet is also\nsomething you should plan into your day. Don\u2019t Go On Impulse!<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Even\nwhen the cravings hit, you need to stick to your plan. Gas stations are\nnotorious for being a place people go when they have the urge for\ncarbohydrate-packed treats. If you go when you\u2019re feeling hungry, you might\nwalk out with non-keto-friendly snacks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5><strong>2. Water Helps Curb The Hunger<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nthere are no keto-friendly options at your local or roadside gas station, then\npicking up a bottle of water is not the worst option.
