{"id":5524,"date":"2023-02-23T22:24:58","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T03:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/?p=5524"},"modified":"2025-04-08T10:23:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T14:23:15","slug":"low-carb-shepherds-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/recipes\/low-carb-shepherds-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Low Carb Shepherd&#8217;s Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie-1024x597.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5527\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie-1024x597.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie-300x175.png 300w, https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie-768x448.png 768w, https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Low-Carb-Shepherds-Pie.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>Ingredients:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>1.5 lbs Ground Beef<\/li><li>1 Onion, diced<\/li><li>3 cloves Garlic, minced<\/li><li>3 Tbsp Butter + 3 Tbsp Butter<\/li><li>1 cup Carrots and Celery, diced<\/li><li>1 cup Beef or Vegetable Stock<\/li><li>1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce<\/li><li>1 head Cauliflower<\/li><li>1\/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese<\/li><li>2 tsp Tomato Paste<\/li><li>2-1\/2 &#8211; 3 tsp <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lowcarbfoods.com\/low-carb-thick-n-saucy?search=thick%20n%20saucy\" target=\"_blank\">LC Thick&#8217;n Saucy<\/a> divided<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp each: Parsley, Thyme, Rosemary<\/li><li>Salt and Pepper, to taste<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>Instructions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Preheat oven to 400 degrees<\/li><li>Steam or boil the cauliflower<\/li><li>Meanwhile, add the butter to a cast iron skillet over medium heat<\/li><li>Once butter is melted, add in onions and garlic and cook about 3 minutes<\/li><li>Add in carrots and celery and cook for 5-10 minutes, until tender<\/li><li>Add the ground beef and cook until no pink remains<\/li><li>Season with salt and pepper as desired<\/li><li>Add in tomato paste and 1 tsp Thick&#8217;n Saucy; stir the mixture well<\/li><li>Add Worcestershire sauce and beef stock and bring the mixture to a boil<\/li><li>Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes<\/li><li>If needed, add another 1\/2 tsp Thick&#8217;n Saucy. <\/li><li>Mash the steamed cauliflower and add 1 1\/2 tsp of Thick&#8217;n Saucy<\/li><li>Add remaining 3 Tbsp butter to the &#8220;potatoes&#8217; and allow it to melt, mixing it in<\/li><li>Season &#8220;potatoes&#8221; with salt and pepper<\/li><li>Spoon the &#8220;potatoes&#8221; over the meat mixture, sprinkle cheese and put in the oven for 20-25 minutes<\/li><li>Optional: put under the broiler for a few minutes to make the top crispier<\/li><li>Enjoy!<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients: 1.5 lbs Ground Beef 1 Onion, diced 3 cloves Garlic, minced 3 Tbsp Butter + 3 Tbsp Butter 1 cup Carrots and Celery, diced&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":5527,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[33,2],"tags":[22,26,18],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v16.9 -
