Worry no more! It is 100% possible to enjoy yourself on the high seas and not undo the success you have enjoyed and still have a great time. You will have tons of low carb options if you have the willpower to keep overindulgence to a minimum. Here are some tips to help you when planning your cruise:<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2>Anchors Aweigh!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Set up a \u201cStanding Dietary Order\u201d by meeting with your restaurant head waiter and have them set this up for you under your state room number.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Have the ship prepare some low carb\/sugar free options for you. The best way to get a low carb\/sugar free dessert on a ship is to say you want a \u201cgluten free\/sugar free dessert.\u201d This will keep them from making you sugar free cake which is high carb!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Don\u2019t make the mistake of eating no sugar added ice cream, which can be very high in carbs too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Another great tip is to put in a standing order to have blackberries, raspberries and strawberries delivered to your state room around 3:00pm each day (hold the blueberries that are higher carb). This will keep your glucose levels supported in the afternoon to help you from getting tired and ravenous at dinner time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Remember alcohol will seriously slow the processing of fat out of your body, so the high fat part of the low carb diet will need to be watched if your drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Some ships may put breading in their hamburgers, so ask them if they do. I was on a cruise a while back, and all the garden caf\u00e9 hamburgers were loaded with breading, but you could get a 100% beef burger at the Irish pub. Just ask the guys with the tall hats, they know what\u2019s in the food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. If you\u2019re not sure what\u2019s in the salad dressings, go for caesar or blue cheese. Talk with the head waiter and preplan your next evening\u2019s meal ahead, they are happy to help you with your low carb diet.
