Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup LC Brown Sugar Sweetener Inulin or Erythritol
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄4 teaspoon sea salt
- LC Chocolate Brownies
Method:
- In a heavy medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- After the butter has melted completely, add the LC Brown Sugar Sweetener to the pan and stir constantly until it is fully dissolved into the butter.
- Let the mixture come to a gentle simmer while continuing to stir occasionally to ensure it doesn’t burn.
- Simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the brown sugar sweetener to dissolve completely and the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Carefully and slowly pour the heavy cream into the mixture while stirring constantly to incorporate the cream evenly with the butter and brown sugar sweetener.
- Bring the mixture back to a simmer, stirring frequently, and let it cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt to the sauce, stirring until fully combined and the sauce is smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat once the sauce is thick and smooth and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Slice the LC Chocolate Brownies into desired number of servings and warm each serving in the microwave for about 15 seconds.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over warm brownies.
- If you are not using all of the caramel sauce, transfer it to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate.
