Low Carb Chicken Fried Steak- Customer Recipe

Delicious low carb chicken fried steak and gravy!
For the Chicken Fried Steak:
  • 1 pound Cube Steak
  • Real Mayonnaise
  • Oil for frying
  • ⅓ cup LC Foods Pasta Flour
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Coarse Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
For the Gravy:
For the Chicken Fried Steaks:
  1. In a shallow bowl mix: LC Foods Pasta Flour, salt, coarse black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, baking powder, baking soda
  2. Stir
  3. Lightly dust cube steaks with the pasta flour mixture on both sides
  4. Spread a thin layer of real mayonnaise on each side of the cube steak (use a silicone pastry brush or similar)
  5. Coat both sides with the remaining pasta flour mixture, giving each steak a slight shake to remove excess
  6. Pan fry in about ¼" preheated oil on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown
  7. Set steaks on paper towels
For the Gravy:
  1. Remove oil from pan, reserving about 3 Tbsp for the gravy
  2. Lower heat to medium
  3. Deglaze the pan with 8oz low sodium chicken broth
  4. Stir with a whisk to incorporate pan drippings
  5. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes
  6. Add 1½ tsp LC Foods Thick & Saucy and a pinch of coarse black pepper
  7. Whisk until dissolved and add 2 Tbsp heavy cream
  8. Lower heat to medium-low for 2 minutes until the mixture has thickened.
  9. Serve with mashed cauliflower
Because this gravy doesn't contain large amounts of milk/cream or flour, it will be a golden color rather than cream colored. More heavy cream can be added to lighten the color if desired.
